Attacq, developers and managers of Waterfall City, today announced that’s its Iconic Gateway West building was well on track to being fully let and is currently at 70% occupancy.

TMP-C5DM31-45133_This follows the steady flow of leading global corporate brands taking up residence in what is already becoming Gauteng’s fastest growing business node.

Since its completion in early November 2017, Waterfall’s Gateway West building has received a lot of attention and acclaim. One of two identical buildings, the 13 611 m² structure’s ultra-modern architecture, coupled with its emphasis on green design, stands as a testament to Waterfall’s commitment to the very best in sustainability and urban design.

The building prioritises a number of green building focused measures, including its façade design which reduces conductive heat, allowing the buildings radiant temperature to remain low throughout the year. Gateway West also received a Gold LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental and Design) rating.

Sage, established in 23 countries around the world and the global market leader for technology that helps businesses of all sizes, manage everything from money to people, will occupy the top three floors in Gateway West. This follows the business management firm’s decision to relocate its regional head office from Woodmead to the trendy and efficient Waterfall precinct.

“Our new offices in the Waterfall precinct offer us a more collaborative working space, facilitating closer interaction between our colleagues,” says Pieter Bensch, Executive Vice President, Africa & Middle East at Sage. “It will support our drive to build a high-speed, high-performance culture and to deliver an outstanding customer experience to Africa’s entrepreneurs and business builders.”

In keeping with the theme of collaborative offices, IWG Plc., the global leader for flexible work space, expanded its “Spaces” brand in South Africa by taking up the ground and first floors in the Gateway West building. Spaces, a subsidiary of IWG, now operates a network of centres across more than 60 cities worldwide and counts Uber, Paypal, and GoPro among its global clients.

“The new offices will support Spaces’ network expansion into South Africa as demand for flexible workspaces continues to increase, especially in Gauteng, the economic hub of the Country. Gateway’s industry-leading design and prioritisation of operational efficiency in how water, heat and energy are utilised is directly in line with IWG’s pursuits of cutting-edge, inspirational work places that support effective working,” adds IWG CEO, Mark Dixon.

Last but not least, ACI Worldwide a leading global provider of real-time electronic payment and banking solutions will also take up offices in the Gateway West building.

Acting CEO of Attacq, Melt Hamman, concludes, “Gateway West – and its soon to be built sister, Gateway East – are progressive statements of modern architecture. The central piazza, designed to include a corporate square and urban green open space for the buildings, really delivers on our mandate to bring the best of global urban design principles to South African developments.  It is truly encouraging therefore, to see how many global industry leaders recognise this and have chosen our efficient, walkable and inter-connected city as their new homes.”
