Over the past ten years the scope of his economic research has broadened to include the G3 economies, as well as members of the BRICS. His research is largely used to inform STANLIB’s asset management investment process and he embraces the philosophy that everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler.

Besides a passion for economics, Kevin is a keen photographer, obtaining a Licentiateship from the Royal Photographic Society a few years ago.

Prior to joining STANLIB in 2001 as an Economics Analyst, Lings was a member of JP Morgan’s macroeconomic research team, where he provided economic research and analysis to the broader asset management industry in South Africa. He is a widely sought-after media commentator and has had a number of journal articles published internationally, as well as locally. He is also a past winner of the Old Mutual Applied Mathematics competition.
