Shopping centres boost Fountainhead

CEO Anton Raubenheimer said yesterday Fountainhead’s strategy of owning big shopping centres, which were performing well in the recession, helped. The group, formerly called Grayprop, has a property portfolio that is valued at R7,6bn and includes interests in shopping centres such as Benmore and Centurion in Gauteng, and N1 City Mall, the Blue Route Mall and Kenilworth Centre in the Western Cape.

SA listed property sector feels the heat

The South African Listed Property Index has come down 8% since May 12 as the property sector, along with other asset classes, weakened following higher interest rates in the US

SA's listed property sector, which has been booming for more than three years, pulled back a little last month, posting a slightly negative total return of -0,79%, said Catalyst Fund Managers.
