Australian-style multiple auctions - introduced to South Africa last year by Auction Alliance in the residential market - have now been extended to commercial property.

A site in Plettenberg bay, comprising a petrol station, a shopping complex and a penthouse flat, will be sold by Auction Alliance on August 9 at 11am.

The Cape commercial property market is starting to follow the residential property market by using the auction mechanism as a first choice method of sale, says Auction Alliance CEO Rael Levitt.

Ten smallholdings, all located in a security complex in Gordon's Bay, are to be sold by auction next week.

PRIME business premises located on the Main Road in the heart of Claremont's business and shopping district will go to auction soon.
