The R127 million Mabopane Square opened at the end of October and boasts the signature waterpark that is proving to be an iconic feature within MPD’s developments.

Located on the Lucas Mangope highway in Mabopane, Pretoria, the 10 387sqm mall embodies MPD’s evolving development design philosophy. With full height frameless shopfronts creating a seamless connection between shoppers and the merchandise within the stores, the development has a strong focus on service and family entertainment all within a highly accessible and convenient location.  The mall offers access to over 35 stores including Shoprite, Clicks and Capitec Bank.

Approximately 220 local labour positions were created during the construction phase of the mall with an anticipated 550 permanent positions created on opening. “Job creation and community upliftment continue to be a pivotal factor in our drive to bring quality retail to those in under-serviced areas. It is our goal to bring positive change and empowerment while creating social hubs for our communities to benefit from”, explains MD of MPD, Jason McCormick.
