GMI Property Group (GMI), in collaboration with Cosmopolitan Projects, are pleased to announce the realisation of Sky City Mall as an exciting retail venture within the Sky City development.

“This is currently one of the most exciting developments happening in Gauteng with 16 000 houses and 16 schools being built by Cosmopolitan Projects and the regional mall being developed by GMI”, says Gerald Dros MD of GMI.

The retail site, located at the intersection of the R550 (Heidelberg Road) and the K91 Vereeniging - Johannesburg, is part of the substantial R10 billion Sky City development.

The mall will be developed in three phases of which phase 1 includes the convenience centre of 10 000m2, expanding into a regional mall of 32 000m2 as the development progresses, serving 181 000 people in the catchment area.

Anchored by Shoprite and Cashbuild and with considerable interest from key national retail outlets like Shoprite Liquor, Pep, Ackermans, Tekkie Town, KFC and AutoZone. The site is also ideally positioned for a filling station which will add to the vibrant tenant mix providing customers with associated conveniences.

The construction of the mall commences early 2018 and will be completed and ready for grand opening November 2018. Aiming to achieve a refreshing design, the building will incorporate sky lights within the mall area, wood and bulkheads.
