The development received the prestigious SAPOA Property Development Award for Innovative Excellence in the mixed use category at the 2017 SAPOA Convention in Cape Town this week. (Thursday, 22 June 2017)
Developed at a cost of R1billion by the Rabie Property Group, Century City Square comprises a Conference Centre with a total capacity of 1900 over 20 venues, a 125 bedroom hotel, 15 000 square metres of offices, five restaurants, boutique retail outlets and 51 apartments all set around a bustling public square and over a super basement parking garage. The latter, together with a structured parking garage, provides a total of more 1330 parking bays.
Rabie director Colin Anderson said Century City Square had added an important dimension to Century City, particularly the Conference Centre and restaurants, which were attracting thousands of people who would not otherwise have visited the precinct.

Century City Square has previously been awarded a 4-Star Green Star – Custom Mixed Use Design rating by the Green Building Council of South Africa.
It was the first development in the Western Cape to be awarded this Custom Mixed Use tool and only the second in the country.
Century City Square, which comprises a total of six buildings, falls within the Bridgeways Precinct of Century City which is being developed as a green building precinct and is home to five other green rated office buildings, four of which were also developed by Rabie.
These include the 18 000 square metre Bridgepark office development, which is the regional home of ABSA, and which was a finalist in the SAPOA Commercial Office category.
Construction of a new 16 500 square metres office development, Sable Park, which will include a new regional head office for Discovery is currently underway. This development is registered with the GBCSA, aiming for a Green Star rating in both the Design v1 and As Built v1 categories.
